cognitive science and related disciplines
Science and mathematics education are two related disciplines in that they engage with similar issues: for example, they both deal with abstract content, and take place within similar social constraints. These areas therefore draw in a similar manner on other bodies of research e.g. cognition and the related sciences, sociology, philosophy and psychology.
Incorporation of the outcomes and implications of research in these areas for science and mathematics education will provide a significant input to future long-term research projects in the Centre.
