Science Fairs in Ireland
Teacher information: How to encourage and support students participation and tips for organising own class and school based science fairs
This paper, written by the directors of the three major science fairs in Ireland (SciFest, BT Young Scientist Exhibition and Sentinus Young Innovators) in collaboration with the Department of Education and Skills, and Intel recommends, engaging with science fairs, as they provides opportunities for students to take more control of their own learning and build skills sets necessary for the 21st century, an approach which is strongly advocated in the framework document for junior cycle reform.

"Research and innovation in mathematics and science education"
CASTeL – the Centre for the Advancement of Science and Mathematics Teaching & Learning – is a multidisciplinary research team involving scientists, mathematicians and educationalists from Dublin City University (DCU) and St Patrick's College, Drumcondra (SPD).
The expertise of the members encompasses the science disciplines and mathematics, in addition to education. CASTeL’s research has the aim of improving the learning of science and mathematics at all levels of the educational system.
